Kevin Love has been pushed out of the gossip columns since the free agency period started, thanks to the exploits of LeBron James and Carmelo Anthony. But the Minnesota Timberwolves power forward is still hoping for a move out of the Great North and to a major market team.
One of the teams that have been at the forefront of the conversations as a trade partner for quite some time has been the Boston Celtics, who apparently are trying to put together anything they can for the star forward.
According to a report from CBS Sports, the Celtics and Danny Ainge are still racking their brains trying to see what their options are in regards to getting a package together to make the deal come to fruition.
Saunders not Settling
From Matt Moore's article posted earlier today:
"However, a league source said Monday that president of basketball operations Danny Ainge is attempting to gather assets to acquire Kevin Love, convinced he can devise a package that would entice Minnesota Timberwolves president Flip Saunders to move the three-time All-Star, who will be a free agent next season."
And for anyone that believes that the Celtics won't get the necessary pieces together to make a deal, there seem to be a lot of disagreeing with that notion, and there are definitely those out there who believe that Ainge can put together an attractive enough package to cause a stir in Boston and subsequently the rest of the NBA if they bring in the big man to TD Bank Garden.
"According to two NBA sources, Ainge has been dogged in his pursuit of Love, and several agents believe he has the creativity to put together an attractive package," Moore went on to add.
Ainge will not be giving up in his pursuit of the NBA's 3rd best player (according to the advanced stats) any time soon, so don't be surprised when Adrian Wojnarowski or any of the other NBA insiders break the news that Love will be going to Boston before the start of the season.
The Golden State Warriors may be in pole position in the Love stakes right now, but the Celtics are there waiting in the wings
