One of the most heavily rumoured stories to pop up every single months relates to Sting and his eventual debut in the WWE.

For years Sting has been rumoured to join the WWE; opting not to sign with the company once Vince McMahon bought WCW. Instead he decided to take his talents elsewhere and solidify himself as a pioneer and a legend of the wrestling business during his days at TNA Impact.

Now with his career almost over, his biggest regret will probably be the fact that he didn’t make the jump to the WWE and achieve a lot more than he already has.
But like always more speculation is starting as Sting has sent out two cryptic Tweets on his official Twitter account, usually that won’t count for anything as they are simply Tweets but the fact that he hasn’t been active since April of this year, only something important would make him post a message or two.

Recently we have been treated to some big returns, whether it’s Brock Lesnar and The Undertaker before WrestleMania, or even AJ Lee and Chris Jericho on the same night last week on Raw. But the one return every fan – that has watched wrestling for years – wants is a Sting debut, a potential Sting debut would top it all off and watching him end his career at the pinnacle of the wrestling industry would be an emotional moment.

On his Twitter account he first posted an image of his face with his infamous face pain; which you can view by clicking here.

His second Tweet he simply posted: ‘07.14.14’, pointing towards the upcoming episode of Monday Night Raw.

It’s no secret that both the WWE and Sting have been in contact for a while now, but what could his posts mean? Well first off, the likeliest option is that it has to do with the WWE 2K15 video game, he is practically confirmed to appear on it and could play a similar role that the late Ultimate Warrior played for the WWE 2K14 video game last year, however this means Sting could appear on television; possibly in a commercial.

Another option is his DVD which will be released, he could simply be promoting that but I doubt he would be secretive about a DVD release we all know will be happening.

A further option is the WWE Network; with the Monday Night Wars starting soon, he played an integral role in WCW’s history and could have a key part to play, he has already appeared on the WWE Network in The Ultimate Warrior tribute programmes.

A Hall of Fame induction has also been mooted and could happen as early as 2015 as WrestleMania will be in California, but the most popular choice remains a debut on WWE television.

He could appear in a General Manager role or just appear to plant seeds for one final match at WrestleMania but if that is the case his opponent will be the big question mark. With the streak now over its unclear whether The Undertaker himself will return, something Sting wanted for his final match.

WWE fans – what do you think? Is Sting hinting towards a WWE debut? Or will it be a different project with the company? Let us know you thoughts in the comments section below and come discuss all things WWE with me on Twitter @RazK28.
