Twenty players have been chosen to form a Major League Soccer roster that will face the Portland Timbers U23s on August 4.
This will be the first ever Chipotle MLS Homegrown Game, and will feature United States international DeAndre Yedlin and AT&T Rookie of the Year contender Harry Shipp.
Stars on Show
Several of the other youngsters on show are also first team regulars, including LA Galaxy's Gyasi Zardes, Vancouver Whitecaps' Russell Teibert and Colorado Rapids' Shane O'Neill, while Steven Evans - now of the senior Portland set-up - will line up opposite his former teammates.
The division's director of player programs Alfonso Mondelo will coach the team, and he was responsible for the final squad selection after clubs had nominated possible candidates.
DeAndre to Dominate
Yedlin is by far the most experienced member of the group, having made three appearances at the FIFA World Cup in Brazil this summer. He has been heavily linked with a move to Italy as a result of his fine performances, but the 21-year-old is expected to be available to face the Timbers.
The USL Premier Development League side have never previously faced MLS opposition, but used to count talents such as Erik Hurtado, Mark Sherrod, Collen Warner and Travis Bowen among their number.
Bayern Bearing Down
This clash will comes just two days before the MLS All-Star match against Bundesliga champions Bayern Munich, which will also be hosted at the Rose City's Providence Park.
The senior roster won't be announced until later this month, but the latest update on the voting suggests that there will be a heavy Team USA representation. Nick Rimando, Matt Besler and Clint Dempsey are all set to be involved, along with Stars and Stripes reject Landon Donovan.
Michael Bradley and New York Red Bulls' star turn Thierry Henry are also in the running, as is Yedlin - an outcome that would potentially see the Seattle Sounders FC right-back miss out on the Homegrown clash.
