Reports in Spain claim that Everton have contacted Nou Camp officials over the possibility of taking teenager Adama Traore on a season long loan.

Everton had Barcelona's Gerard Deulofeu on loan last season and his development under manager Roberto Martinez is understood to have impressed the four-time European Cup winners, which could increase the chances of the Toffees landing Traore.

Deulofeu and Traore

It is said that Deulofeu and Traore are the two most impressive players to come through the legendary Barcelona youth system since Lionel Messi, which is a high accolade indeed. However, whereas last season Gerard Deulofeu showcased he could compete in the Premier League against top class opposition, 18-year-old winger Traore still has something to prove.

Roberto Martinez was hopeful of retaining Deulofeu for another season but new Barcelona manager Luis Enrique wants the 20-year-old in the first-team squad next season to fight for a starting place against the likes of Neymar, Pedro and Alexis Sanchez, who looks to be leaving the Nou Camp for the Premier League in the coming days.

Adama's future

Adama’s development has caught the attention of a host of clubs and 20 sides are in the hunt for his services, according to Mundo Deportivo. Everton are one of four Premier League sides they name as chasing the teenager, along with the likes of Manchester United, Southampton and Stoke City.
