Real Madrid striker, Cristiano Ronaldo has been awarded the Di Stefano trophy for the third consecutive year, an honour bestowed upon the best player on show in La Liga, by the Marca.
Football fans that engage in Spain's number one football publication, the Marca, vote for a jury which consists of an illustrious group of past football greats, who then cast their votes on who they think is the most outstanding performer over the La Liga campaign.
Ronaldo scored a total of 48-goals for Real Madrid across all competitions, 31-La Liga and a record breaking 17-Champions League goals during an incredible season that saw Los Blancos win Europe's premier competition and the Spanish Cup.
Ronaldo, Bale and Benzema, dubbed: "BBC," by the Spanish press, combined for an incredible 97 goals out of the 160 scored by Real Madrid over the 60 games last season. The trio have created an optimal understanding that could flourish even more in their second season together.
Ronaldo beat off competition from former Atletico Madrid striker Diego Costa landing 35-votes to Costa's 16, with former winner Lionel Messi receiving 7-votes, mainly off the back of his second season surge.
The honour was first awarded after the 2007/08 season with another Real Madrid legend, Raul the first recipient.
Barcelona superstar Lionel Messi, then asserted his monopoly on the award, being voted as the outstanding player during the 2008-09, 2009-10 and 2010-11 seasons.
However over the last three years it has all been about Ronaldo.
Real Madrid's League title in 2011/12 was almost single handedly won by the Portuguese superstar, not to mention his performance in Reals double winning season last year, which also saw the emergence of the Ronaldo, Bale and Benzema understanding.
Ronaldo has collected a number of high profile awards over recent times, the Golden Boot, Ballon d'Or and now three Di Stefano trophies.
