Norwich City winger Nathan Redmond is being linked with a move to Southampton, according to the Telegraph.
It is suggested that Saints boss Ronald Koeman is keen to add pace into his new side and has earmarked Redmond as a target for the wide areas.
Southampton have recently added Serbian winger Dusan Tadic to their squad as a replacement for new Liverpool signing Adam Lallana, but are not stopping there.
The Telegraph reports that Norwich would demand a £6million fee for the England under-21 international, who was one of City's bright sparks amongst a disappointing season last year which saw them relegated to the Championship.
Having paid Birmingham around 3.2million last summer, a fee almost double that amount would surely be tempting for the Norfolk outfit to accept.
Although Redmond managed only one goal in 23 starts and 11 substitute appearances for Norwich last season, he was one of the players who excited the Carrow Road faithful most with his wilful running and electric pace frightening defenders.
He has also been involved with the England U21 set-up since 2013, making 14 appearances and scoring five times, where he also linked up with a potential teammate at St.Mary's in James Ward-Prowse.
With Stoke City also credited with an interest in the 20-year-old, it seems that his future is set to be sorted out sooner rather than later and with Southampton having a large transfer budget of up to £70 million it remains to be seen whether Norwich are able to withstand a big offer from the South coast club.
Koeman seems intent on conducting his transfer business as soon as possible as he aims to better last season's 8th placed finish, and with Fraser Forster and Graziano Pelle also on the shopping list, the Saints could be set for an equally enjoyable season.
