As a Nottingham Forest fan, there is nothing more I want than to see them back in the Premier League. Since I have been watching football, my boyhood team have been in League 1 and the Championship and I feel these four signings are just what they need to get back into the top-flight.
There are four key positions marked out which I feel either need to be strengthened with a better player or reinforced with a back-up just in case of any injuries to star players.
Firstly, with the departure of Chile international Gonzalo Jara, I believe Forest could do with a highly-energetic right full-back who can be disciplined in away matches, play on the counter-attack and who is willing to make runs to the byline.
Halfway through the season, Nottingham Forest lost two central midfielders (Andy Reid
and Henri Lansbury) due to injury and this saw the club go from fifth in the table to 11th.
So, what if this happens again? Since these two injuries, Forest only managed to gain five points from a possible 36, without winning a single game. I think a defensive midfielder is key to the team, a player who wins the ball and offloads it to a creative player.
In the event of injuries, back-up is definitely needed for our two creative central players.
With Djamel Abdoun being told he can leave the club, it looks like another wideman is also needed. A good crossing winger is more to my taste now with the arrival of 6ft 5 targetman Lars Veldwijk.
I think the partnership between the winger I have lined up and Lars would be a huge factor to whether Nottingham Forest are promoted to the Premier League next campaign or not.
