It was the main event announced on RAW on Monday night, a clash of the heavyweight titans as Rusev was booked in to take on Roman Reigns.
The two began the show in the ring with Reigns asking for a referee to come to the ring so they could start their match now and although Rusev was more than happy to do so, Lana took him away.
The faced off at the end of the show in a fairly epic main event as muscle fought muscle and power went up against even more power.
Randy Orton left standing tall at the end of the show after his attack on Reigns only hyping up a surely inevitable feud between the two in the near future.
Fandango, Summer Rae and Layla made their first appearance of the night as Fandango was meant to go one-on-one with Adam Rose.
After the women went at it once again, the announcement was made that the two would face off later in the show with Fandango as the special guest referee.
The match seems like it may finally have brought an end to one of the most annoying story lines in the WWE right now (in my opinion) and it also gave the WWE Universe an ending it really wanted.
His interference with the main event wasn't Orton's first involvement in the night, he took on Chris Jericho earlier in the night and the omnipresent Bray Wyatt wasn't far away.
In some of the lesser matches of the night, Curtis Axel took on Goldust as the WWE fans were treated once again to a very unique performance by the Rhodes brothers.
Bo Dallas went 14-Bo after winning a handicap match against El Torito and Diego as his winning streak in the WWE continued.
The Usos were in action against the newly formed tag team of Heath Slater and Titus O'Neill in what turned out to be a very short match.
Finally, AJ Lee took on Cameron as the implosion of the Funkadactyls continued on a fairly eventful night on Smackdown.
