World Cup final day is finally here, and whilst Sunday's papers are dominated by pre-match build ahead of the biggest game in football's greatest tournament, there is still plenty of transfer talk for domestic fans to sink their teeth into.

The rumour mill is yet to really gather pace though, with this summer's showpiece competition in Brazil preoccupying a number of players that are set to move before the close of the window.

However, as the majority of teams have now returned home we can expect more transfer formalities to be completed imminently, with a host of big-name stars seemingly set to arrive in the Premier League.

New Manchester United manager Louis van Gaal is set to arrive at Old Trafford on Thursday fresh from securing the Netherlands' third place finish following a 3-0 victory against Brazil on Saturday night.

The Dutchman continues to be linked with a host of players - most of whom he has coached at the World Cup this summer - so it will be interesting to see which of those, if any, end up as a Red Devil.

Arsene Wenger is also on the lookout for further reinforcements, and not content with the marquee addition of Chilean forward Alexis Sanchez will attempt to strengthen his Arsenal ranks ahead of the new campaign.

Chelsea have already captured Cesc Fabregas and Diego Costa, but Jose Mourinho is never very far away from a high-profile signing, so it would be foolish to rule out the possibility of any other stars turning up at Stamford Bridge ahead of 2014/15.

Meanwhile, Liverpool are ready to splash the cash generated by Luis Suarez's recent sale to Barcelona and continue to be linked with a number of different players that impressed in South America over the summer.

Spurs boss Mauricio Pochettino has been very quiet since succeeding Tim Sherwood at White Hart Lane, but it's likely the north London club will make one or two additions of their own before the transfer deadline.
