Chelsea have been dealt a blow in their alleged pursuit of Paul Pogba after the Juventus midfielder's agent Mino Raiola branded transfer speculation linking his client with a move to west London as "fantasy football".
The Sunday Mirror reports how the 21-year-old France international has been heavily linked with a return to the Premier League this summer, with suggestions that the Blues are ready to meet the player's £60 million valuation.
Pogba was recently spotted in west London on a shopping trip to Harrods, fuelling rumours of an imminent arrival at Stamford Bridge.
However, Raiola has been quick to rubbish such claims, insisting that the former Manchester United man is happy in Turin and has no plans to leave Antonio Conte's team this transfer window.
"Everything is perfect at Juventus and no meetings are planned," he explained in an interview with Tuttosport. "Paul to Chelsea? It’s just fantasy football."
World Cup impact
Pogba impressed for France at the World Cup in Brazil this summer, further strengthening his reputation as one of the most highly-rated youngsters in world football at the moment.
Manchester United will forever regret the way in which Pogba's time at Old Trafford came to an end, with the Juventus star leaving the Red Devils on a free transfer after turning down a new contract in favour of more regular first-team football in Italy.
The move has worked out brilliantly for the box-to-box midfielder, who is now regarded as one of the best players in his position in the world despite his tender years, prompting admiring glances from Jose Mourinho this summer.
