Next season, the Premier League sees new faces as always in both the players and managerial positions. Last season provided the viewers with shock and awe which is what you always get with the EPL and next season already looks as though it is going to be better than last.
With players like Fabregas returning and new faces such as Alexis Sanchez, Diego Costa and Emre Can joining to spice up the league all the way to worldwide renowned managers like Louis van Gaal going to the Red Devils to become Manchester United's first ever non-British manager.
I write this as the news comes in that the current PFA Player of the Year, Luis Suárez has agreed to join Barcelona for a £75 million fee which would be excellent for the Merseyside club financially, but losing a player as good as Suárez is could be crushing mentally and drastically to the team even with the signings of Adam Lallana, Rickie Lambert and Emre Can.
We saw Tottenham do this last season as the club knew they were going to have to sell Gareth Bale to Real Madrid, so they signed multiple players including stars like Christian Eriksen then at the other end of the spectrum, flops such as Soldado and Erik Lamela.
Tottenham ended up finishing 6th this year and I feel that Liverpool will finish 5th this season due to the fact they have sold their best player who makes Daniel Sturridge a much better player and their captain, Steven Gerrard is a player who is now 33 and is past his best (his world cup campaign with England is a fine example).
Last season we also saw the demise of Manchester United after going from champions for the 20th time to 7th place and missing out on European football. That season saw new manager David Moyes get sacked after less than a year in charge and United having to hand out ridiculous contracts to past their best players such as Patrice Evra, but more so Wayne Rooney.
However, now United have a new man in charge of them and that fella is Louis van Gaal who is an exceptionally well known figure in the managerial world. He's been hailed as a tactical genius where he has won silverware at any club he has been at. I believe van Gaal will bring out a new side in United and this season they will finish in the top four; fourth place most likely because he will bring the best out of Van Persie and he has the international credentials to bring in such talents as Arjen Robben, Angel di Maria and Edinson Cavani.
Chelsea and Arsenal are the two main title contenders for me because I do not feel that Manchester City will be able to pull off what they did last season due to reasons like the fine they received for failing to adjust to the rules of financial fair-play. Chelsea have already bought in two top players. One who has just come off a magnificent season with Atletico Madrid and another who has become fed up with how he has been treated since joining Barcelona in 2011.
Yes, Diego Costa and Cesc Fabregás joined Chelsea this summer for big transfer fees after Chelsea were clear to do this after selling away their awful central defender David Luiz for ironically a record breaking transfer fee for a defender of £50 million. I feel that Chelsea have the capability to win the league for a fourth time next season but will receive the most competition for it from the gunners.
Arsenal have just brought in Alexis Sánchez for a fee of £35 million from Barcelona and the club's executives have indicated that they aren't done there and "will continue spending" according to CEO, Ivan Gezidis. Arsenal looked a much better side last season due to the emergence of players such as Aaron Ramsey, the defensive partnership of Laurent Koscielny and Per Mertesacker and the marquee name signing of Mesut Özil. If Arsenal can bring in some more big names in positions they need strengthening for, they will have a serious chance of winning the league next year but they have to start proving they can also beat the big opponents.
I feel that the EPL will finish with Chelsea winning it next season despite Diego Costa having a shocking World Cup. Arsenal to come second but it'll be close. City third, and United fourth with Liverpool just missing out on fifth. Everton will seal 6th spot with another torrid season for Spurs.
Sometimes, the predictions go my way, but I could be proved wrong, tell me what you think in the comments section.
