Eliaquim Mangala is expected to complete his move from FC Porto to Manchester City in the next couple of days. The fee is believed to be in the region of £32m.
Mangala was spotted in Manchester over the weekend, with reports of a medical having been carried through and a deal extremely close to being finalised. Pictures were also released of the Frenchman boarding a private jet on the way back from the city.
The 23-year-old centre-half was a member of France's 23-man World Cup squad for Brazil. Although he didn't make an appearance for his country, he will be looking to earn himself a starting spot alongside captain Vincent Kompany in the heart of the defence at the Etihad Stadium.
This is not the first time the Porto star has been touted for a move to City, with the club having come close to signing him back in January. Despite not completing the move, Manuel Pellegrini's side went on to win the title.
Mangala will join his former Porto teammate Fernando in Manchester, after the Brazilian completed his transfer earlier this summer.
Local rivals Manchester United and title challenging Chelsea have also been interested in Mangala, with reports even suggesting that the French youngster would have preferred a move to Stamford Bridge.
But, having completed a medical with City, a move up north seems on the cards for the young centre-half.
