Kevin Durant graces cover of NBA 2k15 with Pharrell as music curator

Grammy award winning artist and producer Pharrell Williams has been announced as the music curator of upcoming video game NBA 2k15 with superstar Kevin Durant also gracing the cover.

The video game series has been well known for the artist's it has featured, Pharrell will follow big names like Jay Z and LeBron James who have previously held the role of music curator in earlier editions of the game.

You can almost guarantee 'Happy', the biggest hit of 2014 will likely feature in the game which has also selected reigning MVP Kevin Durant as its cover athlete.

The Thunder superstar has featured on the front of the game before but back on NBA 2k13 he was partnered alongside fellow NBA players Blake Griffin and Derrick Rose.

Pharrell will take on a major role in music selection for the game and recently spoke about the opportunity of working on the video game: "It was a cool experience. I tried to curate songs that were diverse but yet still proved to be motivational to gamers. It was important to me that the music complemented the on-court action of NBA basketball in NBA 2K15. I hope everyone enjoys it.”

Every year the 2k sports game attempts to further progress the game title with its innovative music approach, Jay-Z's involvement in the series set the platform for future artists to really become immersed in the video game industry.

Alfie Brody the Vice President of marketing for 2k also spoke of Pharrell's impact in this years edition:

"Pharrell’s passion and reputation as a visionary producer and expertise from working with the NBA will be evident in the largest and most eclectic NBA 2K soundtrack ever. We really listened to our fans’ feedback on how we could improve their experience from a music standpoint, and we’re confident Pharrell’s collaboration in NBA 2K15 will impress players as much as it’s impressed us."

The games release date is set to be October 7th, news on the game will continue to filter through and even Kevin Durant has already tweeted an image of himself working on a 'secret project' to do with NBA 2k15.
