CM Punk removed from official WWE roster

It’s the one thing CM Punk fans just didn’t want to believe...with his contract set to expire, it looks as if CM Punk is definitely done with professional wrestling after the WWE removed him from their official roster, reports wrestlinginc.com.

It’s unclear whether CM Punk will call it quits for good or whether he’s simply done with the WWE, but he's now no longer affiliated with the WWE as his official profile was transferred to the Alumni section on Tuesday.

It’s no secret that Vince McMahon has wanted CM Punk to return ever since he abruptly walked out on the WWE the night after the Royal Rumble on Monday Night Raw, but it seems no deal could be reached and the company will let his contract wind down.

There was some hope, which his marriage to current WWE Divas Champion AJ Lee and her recent return could play a factor in his potential return but that also doesn’t seem to be the case.

Fans were clutching at straws when they started to speculate that when Paul Heyman mentioned a potential ‘plan c’ to The Authority on Monday Night Raw, he was referring to CM Punk, but the likely explanation is that he was referring to his current client Cesaro.

CM Punk fans won’t let this go, that’s for certain as they will hope this is a distraction to a potential return in the near future. Who knows, it is a possibility but the fans do need to get over him and his decision. However, being moved to the Alumni section on wwe.com doesn’t mean a lot.

For example Brie Bella is listed in the Alumni section, and we know she is only taking some time off and will be back on our television sets very soon and her official profile will be listed back in the divas section.

The same applies with Dave Batista, his situation is different as he is a part-timer and he will continue two switch between both sections, he was in the Alumni section before his return, and is now back in the Alumni section as he begins to promote Guardians of the Galaxy.

The same applies with Brad Maddox who is on vacation, he is in the Alumni section but again; he will be back too.

So being moved to the Alumni section doesn’t really prove anything, other than the fact that CM Punk will probably always have a place in the WWE if he ever has the urge to return.

With his contract rumoured to be expiring around July 17 and the WWE opting not to renew it, it looks as if CM Punk acknowledged that his WWE career is over for now by Tweeting shortly after.

It reads: “Nope, thank YOU. Thanks for all the help and support through the years. Health and happiness above all. Don’t ever take s**t from anybody.”

A classy move from CM Punk, he mentioned that he could be starting a band and a podcast soon. Whatever his next move is fans can’t deny that he gave it his all every time he was in the ring. He wasn’t supposed to make it but ended up as the longest reigning WWE Champion in the modern era, only special superstars are capable of achieving that.

I am positive that CM Punk will have a successful career in whatever he chooses to do next as the best in the world leaves a lasting legacy in the WWE.
