Callum Smith is one of Boxing's brightest prospects

Callum Smith aged 24 looks to be one of the best prospects in Boxing and there is real excitement building over his potential.

Smith is from a boxing family with his brothers Paul, Stephen and Liam all having been British champions and he appears to be the most talented of them all.

Smith came into the fight with an 11-0 record with nine knockouts and had been destroying any man in his way in emphatic fashion.

Last time out Tobias Webb was given the task of providing rounds for Smith and he came to win.

Webb started well and probably won the first round. Smith then showed that he can make adjustments and blew Webb away with a series of crushing body shots.

This time out he faced off with Vladine Biosse who earlier in the year faced off with a man involved with Floyd Mayweather in J'Leon Love. Biosse was on the end of a 10th round technical knock out and was clearly a step up for Smith.

Smith at 6ft 3in is very tall for the weight and he looked to keep his opponent at the end of his long punches as he tried to dominate from the centre of the ring. When he did this he looked in complete control.

Biosse showed himself to be an incredibly tough opponent who could take big shots seemingly with no effect. He took shots which would have knocked out most others and kept on piling on the pressure.

He provided the perfect opponent for Smith at this time in his career.

Biosse gave Smith a tough test and gave him 10 good rounds which will improve him massively as a boxer.

As impressive as it is knocking your opponents out in a few rounds it is much more important at this point to get the rounds in and be tested.

Smith has also answered some questions about himself that doubters had. He took some good shots himself and showed that he hasn't got a bad chin. He also showed that he has great stamina as he was able to throw big, heavy shots even in the last couple of rounds.

The fight was very entertaining with both men looking to put on a good show and Biosse just kept on going undeterred by the fact that he was clearly losing the fight.

Smith picked his shots well and was very patient in his work which will stand him well for tougher tests in the future and this is going to have been a fantastic learning fight for the young man.

Smith seems to have all the potential to become a huge star of the sport. He has good boxing skill, good power and he is big for the weight.

The super middleweight division is full of talent in Britain with the likes of Carl Froch, George Groves, James Degale, Paul Smith, Rocky Fielding and Callum Smith himself.

There is the potential for a number of massive domestic fights and the prospect is exciting.

Smith appears to be a great boxer in the making and combined with his humble attitude and hard-working mentality there appears no reason why he won't be a world champion.
