Derek Jeter is one of the greatest baseball players ever and he's a legend in the eyes of New York Yankees fans. But every now and then he loses his cool like the rest of us.
Case and point was during Tuesday night's 2014 MLB All-Star Game in Minnesota. Fox Sports were covering the ball game with all access to the players' clubhouse.
As usual, the network took advantage of its opportunity to showcase how much access they have. This time they choose to delve into the players' personal area before the game just to get a sight of Derek Jeter. The worst thing about Joe Buck and Fox's move was that it was clearly unannounced.
Buck opened the segment by pointing out he was about to enter the American League's dressing room during Fox Sports' prologue for the MLB All-Star, with a sighting of Jeter the main reason.
Immediately to his left as he walked in was Miguel Cabrera who was a study of concentration before he was rudely interrupted by Buck and the Fox team.
"I'm in the American League clubhouse and look who you get to see. You've got Triple Crown winner Miguel Cabrera," Buck explained. Cabrera reacted with shock, before Buck quipped.."Yes that's you."
Jeter gets angry
Not just happy with interrupting Cabrera and then Mike Trout, Buck and his crew set their sights on Jeter in the corner of the clubhouse.
"And then over here in the corner by his former teammate Robinson Cano you've got 'the captain' Derek Jeter. The Yankees legend Jeter was having none of it though, and he sunk his teeth right into Buck.
"That's enough," he said in the video below. "We've got a game to play bro."
Some may say that reporting is hard and that access to players is important to the fans, but it's clear that Fox entered the clubhouse unannounced. Therefore, Jeter had every right to shoot Buck down. Plus the video above is absolutely hilarious.
