Feyenoord defender Bruno Martins Indi has confirmed he is leaving De Kuip, with Porto clinching his signature.
The 22-year-old impressed at the World Cup finals with Holland and that saw a number of clubs linked with a summer move for his services including the likes of Manchester United.
Louis Van Gall has been linked with many of his Holland squad, including the whole defensive line which includes Ron Vlaar, Daley Blind and Ajax centre half, Stefan De Vrij.
But Porto are set to land the imposing defender in a deal worth around €8 million, although Martins Indi would not reveal which club he would be joining.
"It's true that I am leaving, but now it's Feyenoord that will have to say more about the subject," he told RTV Rijnmond. The club later confirmed the transfer.
Feyenoord, who have already sold Graziano Pelle to Southampton this summer and look set to lose Stefan De Vrij and Daryl Janmaat in the coming weeks, have bolstered their squad with the signing of experienced Dutch international Khalid Boulahrouz, who returns to his homeland from Danish outfit Brondby.
Technical director Martin van Geel told the official Feyenoord website: "With Khalid we have signed a very experienced and good defender.
"He is fully fit and can play in various positions in the defence. With his experience and qualities he can give great value for the development of the younger players in our squad."
Manchester United have missed out on a great talent here, with the likes of Nemanja Vidic and Rio Ferdinand leaving the club and with Chris Smalling not really fitting the criteria for United, the Red Devils could have really benefited from Bruno Martins Indi.
The 22-year old is incredibly strong for such a young man, he is a perfect athletic specimen. Extremely quick on his head and his feet, Martins Indi will keep up with even the fastest of attackers. His great ability in the air means he can command his box when defending and makes him a threat from set-pieces.
