Floyd Mayweather is one of the most controversial characters in sport. He is also the highest paid athlete on the face of the planet. But every now and then, even stars that think they are untouchable find themselves in situations that can only be deemed as embarrassing.
On Wednesday night, the ESPYs took place and their host Drake was full of praise for the pound for pound king as he introduced him. Mayweather was about to make his way on stage to present the award for best game, which was won by the Iron Bowl.
In preparation for Mayweather's entrance, Drake mockingly read a list of his accomplishments off a scroll as a red carpet was rolled across the stage awaiting the boxing champion's arrival.
"Floyd said that we had to introduce him in a very specific way, so of course we are going to do what he wants." Drake said in a tongue in cheek way before he went on to list Mayweather's accomplishments in a weird fake British accent.
Mayweather appeared alongside women's tennis star Maria Sharapova as they introduced the award. But such is the sheer size of Sharapova at 6ft 2inches and in heels, Mayweather looked tiny compared to the tennis player.
A bewildered Sharapova said, "Where was my introduction?" Unsure where to stand, Mayweather hovered in the background before he eventually came to the podium to start speaking.
But Sharapova jumped at her chance to embarrass Mayweather in a joking way when he took to the podium and stood in front of her. Showing her sense of humor, she rested her arms on his back and made him look absolutely tiny compared to herself.
For once, Mayweather showed humility and just laughed it off. Who knows what he really felt like in that moment. One can imagine he felt burned by Sharapova in the hilarious video below.
It's only fair that Mayweather gets burned every now and then because he's a pretty shameful human being most of the time.
Some of the things he says towards women are pretty disgusting. Recently he said that women who dress showing skin shouldn't be surprised when men disrespect them.
And this week he also insulted UFC Women's Bantamweight Champion Ronda Rousey when he claimed he didn't know who "he is."
Classy as always Mayweather.
