A number of high-class athletes are preparing themselves for yet another Diamond League meet as the series moves to Monaco this weekend.
Among the athletes competing are American sprinters Justin Gatlin and Tyson Gay, as well as the returning Veronica Campbell-Brown of Jamaica.
Gatlin has been the stand-out performer in this year's 100 metres and set the world-lead time of 9.80 seconds in Lausanne earlier in the month.
Gay v Gaitlin
That race, in which he beat Gay, was one of 10 unbeaten for the former world record-holder.
This time around, though, the two will go head-to-head over 200m. While Gatlin has not had much success over the longer sprint down the years, Gay is a former world champion over the distance.
The 31-year-old, who recently made his comeback after a drug-ban, won the 200m world title in Osaka in 2007. This may well be his chance to register a first win of the season.
Campbell-Brown v Felix
The return of two-time Olympic champion Campbell-Brown will see her up against current champion over the 200m, Allyson Felix.
Felix herself is still awaiting her best form after suffering from a leg injury through the winter. The 28-year-old did run 22.35 in Glasgow last weekend, though, and another time like that may well see her take the Diamond League victory.
In the field events, the men's high jump will again have the eyes of the audience. In a season where five men have jumped 2.40m outdoors, there will likely be another world-record attempt from either Ivan Ukhov, Bohdan Bondarenko or Mutaz Essa Barshim.
