Alex Song - Barcelona

Football News
24/7

Much in the same vein as former Arsenal team-mate Francesc Fabregas, Alex Song’s time in Barcelona has offered little in terms of fruits from his labour.

The Cameroon international has found himself stuck behind Xavi, Andres Iniesta and Sergio Busquets in the Nou Camp pecking order and when he has found his way into the first-team he’s been criticised by fans for not making an impact. One gets the feeling that Song doesn’t really fit in with the Catalan giants’ style of play, and his physical approach is far more suited to the Premier League.

Doubters of his talent need only to review his days under Arsene Wenger to realise that in actual fact Song is a very competent player at the highest level, and it would be a waste were he to remain on the bench in Spain for much longer.

Club he should join: AC Milan
