This past week’s episode of NXT saw Sami Zayn compete in the main event once more, this time taking on Tyson Kidd whilst Enzo Amore also returned to the ring in tag team action.

A lot happened last week with some impressive matches but Tyson Kidd was under the spotlight as he allowed his wife Natalya to be shoved off the apron so he could finally pick up a win in NXT. This means this is another problem for NXT Champion Adrian Neville, with Justin Gabriel also on his face and Tyler Breeze looming, the champion certainly has his hands full.

We kick off this week with the very entertaining Vaudevillians as they take on an equally entertaining duo in Colin Cassady and Enzo Amore.

Match One: Vaudevillians vs. Enzo Amore and Colin Cassady

Tag team action to kick off the night and it was a good tag team match which is the high standard NXT tag teams have set for the last few years now. The entertaining duo of Simon Gotch and Aiden English just bounce off each other and their gimmick is working perfectly, breaking out into song whenever they can.

It’s a good job Enzo wasn’t in any big spots so soon after his injury, but it was a very short match which concluded with the interruption by The Legionnaires, Big Cass was distracted the the victim of the roll-up pin.

Result: The Vaudevillians defeat Enzo Amore and Colin Cassady

Main Event: Tyson Kidd vs. Sami Zayn

Tyson Kidd is playing a brilliant heel and the fact that Natalya is in the mix genuinely makes him come across as a sore loser, and it’s working perfectly so far. As expected with these two underrated talents, a great main event match. Some brilliant spots in this match, slingshot moonsault, the impressive Blue Thunder Bomb countered into a German suplex; all leaving the fans amazed.

The end came when Kidd locked in the Sharpshooter but Zayn managed to crawl to the ropes, Tyson was forced to let go and climbed the top rope and hit a dive only for Zayn to counter it into the impressive Koji Clutch leaving Kidd with no choice but to tap out in the brilliant match.
