Football News

Hello and welcome to the GiveMeSport – Social Report. Where we have a look at the weekend’s social media best bits!

Rory McIlroy lifted the Claret Jug on Sunday claiming his first Open Championship win. During the round, one spectator was purposely giving Rory grief, until the 16th hole when he was asked to be removed from the course. But it was Rory who had the last laugh posting up these pictures.

Make-A-Wish Foundation and Seattle Sounders FC made young Xander Bailey’s wish come true by signing him up as a professional footballer. Not only that, he got a place in the starting line up against Tottenham in a pre-season friendly. Hats off to all those involved in making that dream come true!

WARNING!!! In this report I’ve shown many successful selfies, but I do ask all of you to think before posting one yourself! One unlucky Brazilian football fan found out the hard way as her Facebook selfie went viral. See if you can spot why….

That's all for this week, Tweet, Facebook or Google plus us if you have any social media gems. Thanks for watching!
