If word is to be believed and Liverpool have agreed a deal with QPR over Loic Remy I will be a happy camper. He's a handy player and I'm sure he'll fit in well into the squad alongside new signings Can, Lambert, Lallana and Markovic.
There's just one thing were missing: a Hollywood player. A marquee signing, if you will. Arsenal have made there's with Alexis Sanchez. Chelsea made there's with Diego Costa. I'm sure both Manchester clubs will eventually get the money out and sign someone big in the coming weeks.
After Suarez leaving, reds everywhere have been calling out for some of that £75 million to be spent on a big name to boost morale again.
Suarez departure leaves huge hole
Suarez was our world-class icon and with him gone there's a sense of a huge hole being left behind him. Fans just want to make sure that we are covered for the new season as we won't have the Uruguayan to bail us out when things get sticky.
l for one would live to see someone of the calibre of a Marco Reus being unveiled as our next signing. I am also a realist and know that a transfer like that is highly unlikley at this time. They say anything can happen in football and if this transfer goes through I would gladly go on the beer for a week.
Marquee signing required
I just think that a marquee signing would give the club and supporters a massive buzz and show everyone else that Liverpool Football Club means business even without a certain Luis Suarez.
Brendan Rodgers has done a fine job so far in the transfer market putting together a squad to challenge on all fronts this coming season, including the Champions League. Borini to Sunderland for £14 million would be a masterstroke and the club should be commended on a fine bit of business.
One thing we simply cannot afford to do is waste the Suarez transfer money. Once the money is gone its gone. And unfortunately so is he...
