Napoli striker Jose Callejon has confirmed that he has no interest in leaving the Serie A side, even for Jose Mourinho's Chelsea, according to the Daily Express.
The Premier League giants have been linked with the Spanish international, and were reportedly willing to spend £16million on the 27-year-old, but those reports have been dashed after the player himself confirmed his desire to stay in Italy.
Callejon, who signed from Real Madrid last summer for roughly £8million, scored 15 goals in his debut season for Napoli, and his performances have caught the eye of Chelsea as well as La Liga champions Atletico Madrid, who were also weighing up a potential £16million bid this summer.
The ex-Espanyol forward was signed by Mourinho during his tenure at Madrid for just £4million, and after making over 50 appearances for the Spanish giants, Callejon decided to move on to save his career and gain more first-team football. The forward was joined by Gonzalo Higuain and Raul Albiol in swapping Madrid for Napoli, and after enjoying debut seasons in Italy, both forwards have been linked with moves away.
Callejon not keen on Mourinho reunion
Despite being signed by Mourinho at the Bernabeu, Callejon was barely used by the Portuguese manager and when asked about a potential future at Stamford Bridge, the Spaniard confirmed that he doesn't want to work under the Chelsea boss again.
In the interview, Callejon confirmed his desire to stay at Napoli as he enjoys working with Rafael Benitez, and he admitting that he was happy the club told Chelsea that he wasn't for sale.
"My agent told me of this [speculation]. I was glad [Napoli declared him untransferable] because I really want this shirt.
"I still have four years on my contract. I feel good, I feel the support of the people.
"And I’m a former Real Madrid man? Indeed…but never say never in football. In any case, I do not have a problem - with Benitez I have complete freedom and I do not want to give that up.
"Not even for Mourinho at Chelsea? No."
Callejon became a crucial figure for Napoli in the 2013/2014 campaign, scoring 15 goals and assisting seven as Benitez's men finished third in the table. The forward also featured in the club's 3-1 victory over Fiorentina in the Coppa Italia final.
