The CM Punk saga could be just about to get a whole lot more messy. According to reports, WWE are thinking of formulating a plan for attack with suggestions that they are about to accuse CM Punk of breaching his contract.
CM Punk walked out on WWE back in January, the day after Royal Rumble. At first it was labelled as a "hiatus" by WWE Chairman Vince McMahon, but it was soon revealed as a bitter parting of ways.
Although CM Punk remained on the books of WWE, it would seem until last week, he didn't wrestle and spent most of his time avoiding everything to do with wrestling.
Now many WWE fans hoped for months and months that CM Punk would come to some sort of compromise with McMahon, and decide to come back and continue to be the superstar he once was in the ring.
But that time has past, and according to certain reports from the dirt sheets, things are about to get more serious as the CM Punk and WWE break-up gets really ugly.
This is at least according to Dave Meltzer, who revealed what many WWE fans have feared for many months now.
Meltzer explained on the Wrestling Observer Radio show that there are plenty of issues still bubbling away in the CM Punk and WWE saga.
WWE still angry
He says that WWE is "not happy with the way this all went down." And he claims although things might sound like CM Punk's transition to former superstar has been smooth, "there's certainly the threat that it's [plans for legal action] happening and this may not be smooth."
Furthermore, Cagesideseat.com reports: "There's talk that WWE management are still considering taking legal action against CM Punk for breach of contract."
Punk may have angered WWE further
When you add all this together it seems like WWE may well be furious with CM Punk's comments at the AP Music Awards on Monday night.
Punk was asked by a reporter about whether or not he has a wrestling future. In response, the superstar said "never ever ever."
He also commented that he doesn't remember most of his life. "There's chunks of my life that I don't remember due to staph infections and concussions."
This was another clear swipe at WWE from CM Punk as he enjoys his retirement. But it might just have been the thing to send Vince McMahon over the edge, and Punk might just be about to feel the wrath of the WWE.
