Arsenal target Sime Vrsaljko joins Sassuolo - transfer roundup

Published Add your comment

Arsenal appear keen a full-back to their squad having been linked with the likes of Javi Manquillo, Serge Aurier and even Chris Smalling.

However one they won't be signing is Croatian ace Sime Vrsaljko. He was linked with a move to north London from Genoa but has instead joined Serie A outfit Sassuolo.

With Manquillo seemingly on his way to Liverpool and Smalling unlikely to be included in any deal with Manchester United for Thomas Vermaelen, the Gunners are back to square one as they look to find another right-back to support Mathieu Debuchy.

Arsenal boss Arsene Wenger doesn't appear to trust Carl Jenkinson to do to the job and could move him on, however that won't happen until an upgrade has been found. Ricardo Rodriguez has been touted as the man for the job in the past, as has Gino Peruzzi, however as it stands nothing appears close to being finalised.
