QPR new signings Rio Ferdinand and Steven Caulker have been forced into a comical initiation ritual after joining the club this week.

The pair were made to get up in front of everyone and sing into beer bottles as the rest of the players enjoyed the light entertainment.

QPR's tour

The team are currently on a pre-season tour of Germany, where former Manchester United man Ferdinand and ex-Cardiff player Caulker had to show their talents on the mic rather than with a football. But it was more with the football that the duo impressed last season, gaining them transfers to Premier League new boys QPR.

Ferdinand signed on a free transfer with a one-year deal. citing his desire to once more play under Harry Redknapp, and Caulker completed his £8million deal to the R’s coincidentally after being convinced by Ferdinand’s arrival.

Transfer plans

The London club will want to add to their team, and are still vying to make more signings over the summer to bolster their squad. The side seem to be interested in striker Troy Deeney, which is certainly an area they need to improve, having only really Bobby Zamora and Charlie Austin up front.

And after some fun the players will want to get back down to business in pre-season as they play Red Bull Leipzig on Saturday after coming out 1-0 winners in their first game of the tour against Rot Welb Erfurt.

They hope to prepare well for the new season ahead, with their first Premier League game a very winnable one against Hull City, hoping to grab all three points and get off to a winning start, not a laughable one.
