Luis Suarez could make his Barcelona debut against their biggest rivals Real Madrid on October 26.
The Uruguayan striker signed for the Catalonia side earlier this month for a reported fee of £70 million however Suarez is currently serving a 4 month ban after the strike bit Italian defender Giorgio Chiellini during a World Cup group stage match.
Suarez has been banned from all football-related activities by FIFA and cannot train with his new club and is prohibited from entering the confines of any stadium.
The first El Clasico of the 2014/15 season is on October 26, a day after Suarez's ban finishes. This means that unless the huge game is moved to Saturday (the 25th) the 27-year-old could make his debut against Real Madrid. The second El Clasico of the La Liga season will be played on the weekend of the March 22.
Defending La Liga champions Atletico Madrid will begin their campaign against Rayo Vallecano on the weekend of 24 August. Barcelona will kick off their La Liga campaign at home to Elche whilst Real Madrid will host La Liga new boys Cordoba in their first game of the new season. The first Madrid derby of the new season, a repeat of the Champions League final in which Real won 4-1, will be played on September 22nd.
Earlier this week the La Liga committee agreed to use the vanishing spray that was used in the World Cup in Brazil. The spray was used to mark where players stand for free-kicks and the spray would vanish after a couple of minutes.
