Daniel Bryan making headlines but not for his injury

Former WWE World Heavyweight Champion Daniel Bryan has made the headlines after putting his wrestling abilities to use outside of the ring.

After returning to his home on Thursday night, Bryan noticed his front door opening and he came face to face with two men attempting to burgle his house.

When confronted by the WWE superstar, the two men attempted to flee and avoid the former champion.

He did however catch up with one of the criminals and placed him in a submission move which can be seen on RAW on a weekly basis - when Bryan is back from his injury of course.

After locking in the hold, he kept the man subdued until the police arrived but unfortunately wasn't able to catch both men.

As the men just dropped the Bryan's possessions, upon seeing the returning couple, his wife Brie collected the items and found within them, a bracelet from Daniel's recently deceased father.

It has proven to be somewhat of a public service however after it was later revealed that the man that Bryan has handed to the authorities, is facing kidnapping charges in another case.

The second assailant is however still at large but it should be clear to him now that breaking into the house of a WWE superstar is a very bad idea.

A fortunate injury

Bryan has been injured for several months now and despite being the WWE World Heavyweight Champion at the time of his neck surgery, his return is still questionable.

It has been speculated that his injury may be more serious than first thought and after multiple surgeries, many WWE fans are hoping for news of his return.

However had he been an active superstar on the roster, his reappearance at his home could be questionable and the whole story could have been different.

No date for his return has yet been established but clearly his physical ability is returning after his actions against the would be burglars on Thursday.

Struck down at the wrong time

It came as a massive shock and a shame to everyone when Bryan revealed his impending time out of the ring.

Having had the greatest night of his career by winning the WWE World Heavyweight Championship at WrestleMania XXX, many people envisioned a long title reign.

Now the story surrounding the title is different and Bryan will need to be back to full health if he hopes to regain his championship.
