WWE are used to coming up with elaborate storylines for their superstars, but the drama that has appeared out of the ring for one star would even make them proud.

Former WWE Champion Daniel Bryan has been laying low now for quite some time. This is because of a neck injury that forced the company to strip him of his title.

During his time away from the ring he married WWE Diva Brie Bella, and both of them have been enjoying married life together off screen.

Off-screen drama

That was until the drama began this past week at the Bryan home. According to reports, two robbers broke into Daniel Bryan and Brie Bella's home.

But when Bryan and Bella came back to their house, Bryan became aware of intruders trying to get out of their front door.

Rather than simply calling the authorities, a man named by police as Bryan Danielson (known in WWE under the name Daniel Bryan) allegedly ran after one of the perpetrators.

Underestimating

Daniel Bryan is only 5ft 8inches, meaning the suspected robbers are likely to have underestimated his athletic abilities. But the WWE superstar showed his tenacity by tracking one of them down and detaining him before calling police, who then managed to arrest a 22-year-old suspect named Cesar Sosa.

"Phoenix police said WWE wrestler Bryan Danielson, who goes by Daniel Bryan, and his wife [Brie Bella] were pulling into their carport in the Arcadia area about 7 p.m. on July 24 when two suspects dropped their loot and ran out of the house," a Fox Carolina report states.

"Phoenix police said they broke the back door to get into the house. Danielson caught one of the suspects, 22-year-old Cesar Sosa, and was able to detain him until police officers could take him into the custody."

It's even more impressive because of the fact that Bryan is still recovering from neck surgery.

YES! man good work. If only WWE had the footage, it would make for a great storyline.
