Chelsea claimed their first win of their pre-season tour after second half goals from summer signings Diego Costa and Kurt Zouma secured a 2-1 victory over Olimpija Ljubljana.
The Blues were forced to come from behind after some sloppy defending allowed 20-year-old midfielder Nik Kapun to put the Slovenian side 1-0 up at the break, despite the visitors looking fairly comfortable in the opening period.
Parity was restored soon after the break as Fabregas and Costa combined well, the former Atletico Madrid striker latching onto the midfielder's perfectly-weighted through ball, firing high into the roof of the net.
The £27 million signing from Barcelona also had a hand in the winning goal. His corner was met by Fernando Torres, but his shot was parried by the opposition goalkeeper into the path of centre-back Zouma, who duly converted the rebound.
Branislav Ivanovic thought he'd added a Chelsea third moments later, only for his effort to be controversially ruled out by the referee following a period of confusion between the officials.
Torres also missed a glorious chance after failing to convert Nathan Ake's cutback, meaning the score remained the same.
Jose Mourinho had named a relatively strong starting line-up after the disappointing draw with Wolfsberger AC last week, and the Portuguese coach will be pleased to have recorded a first victory of the summer, as Chelsea prepare to step up preparations for the new 2014/15 campaign.
