Champions League winners Real Madrid are preparing a £20million bid for Chelsea's out-of-favour striker Romelu Lukaku.

The Spanish giants are again short of players up-front as they recently sold Alvaro Morata to Juventus in a reported £16million transfer.

Lukaku the replacement?

According to the Express Real boss Carlo Ancelotti has identified the perfect replacement for Morata and he is now readying a £20million bid for Belgian striker Lukaku.

After Chelsea resigned Didier Drogba the youngster went further down in the pecking order and Real could provide him with an escape route from his Blues torment.

Lukaku's options

Yet Los Blancos will face competition from Everton, who are also ready to make a £20million bid for the striker they had on loan last season.

Since Lukaku signed for Chelsea in 2012, he has been loaned twice to West Bromwich Albion and to Everton, but has struggled to find a place in any of the squads managed by Andre Villas-Boas, Roberto di Matteo and Jose Mourinho.
