The Panenka is not for the faint hearted - get it right and you're Andrea Pirlo, get it wrong - well, you don't want to get it wrong.
But that's just what Manchester United transfer target Miranda did this week. In a preseason friendly against San Jose Earthquakes of the MLS, Miranda stepped up in the penalty shootout after the two sides played out a stalemate.
Fortunately for him, there was nothing riding on it as the United transfer target went for the Panenka chip - and failed miserably.
He got well underneath it, lifting the ball clear of the crossbar. The keeper had it covered anyway. Such was the situation, Miranda allowed himself a little chuckle. I guess he won't be trying that again.

The 29-year-old Brazilian has been heavily linked with a move away from the Vicente Calderon this summer, with both Manchester United and Barcelona likely destinations.
United transfer plan
United boss Louis Van Gaal wants to bring in cover following the departures of Nemanja Vidic and Rio Ferdinand. He is looking to implement a three-at-the-back formation, and preferably wants a left-footed defender to slot into the system. As a result, United have been linked with Arsenal's Thomas Vermaelen but they're also looking at Miranda.
The defender is thought to favour Barcelona though, as he's keen to stay in Spain. Reports in Spain claim he's told his agent to sound out Barcelona's interest in signing him. He is believed to have a £24.2m buyout clause in his Atletico Madrid contract.
