With Liverpool looking to recruit some fire-power to compensate for the loss of star forward Luis Suarez to Barcelona, the Anfield club began making plans to add to their forward options.

They seemed set to complete the £8.5m signing of Queens Park Rangers striker Loic Remy, who's attributes seemed a perfect fit, only for the deal to collapse for reasons yet to be confirmed.
