Let’s start at the WGC Bridgestone Invitational where it seems there could be a potential preview of this year’s Ryder cup singles matches. Of the thirty-eight pairings for the opening two rounds, seventeen feature one player from the United States and one from Europe. Our picks are Phil Mickleson and Sergio Garcia.. Rickie Fowler and Justin Rose.. and Tiger Woods and Martin Kaymer.

To Valhalla now and in just over a weeks’ time the famous course will host the US PGA Championship. Making its return this year will be the ‘Pick the hole location challenge’ where fans will get the opportunity to choose from four pin locations on the par 4, sixteenth hole. To vote, fans just need to log on to the PGA website before the 9th August.

Fans have also had a part to play in Rory McIlroy’s Open win this year, as the golf ball that he holed on eighteen to win.. is now up for auction. English fan Lee Horner caught the ball that Rory threw into the crowd on that memorable Sunday.. and has since sold it to Green Jacket Auctions who tracked him down and offered an undisclosed sum.

Well that’s all for today, join us tomorrow where we’ll be reporting from the WGC Bridgestone Invitational. In the meantime you can follow us on twitter @golfingworldtv and don’t forget we’re on facebook and Instagram too.
