It was announced Monday night on Raw that Chris Jericho would be going one-on-one with the monster he overcame at Battleground Bray Wyatt, once again at SummerSlam.
But at last night's Smackdown tapings when Jericho was set to face one third of the Wyatt family, there was an added stipulation to the match. If Jericho could overcome Erick Rowan then he would be banned from ringside for their rematch in just over two weeks time.
Jericho managed to overcome the beast and now it would seem a match between himself and Luke Harper is on the horizon with the added motivation that he could face Bray without any of the family there for interference purposes.
Not only that but after all of the controversy that Rusev v Jack Swagger caused at Battleground it seems that the two are again set to go one-on-one in a flag match at next months pay-per-view.
This rivalry has been building for a while and many speculated that a flag match would be the way to go with both superstars coming to the ring carrying flags and showing how passionate they are toward their respective nations.
For those who are not familiar with the rare match type, the two flags are placed on opposite turn buckles and the participants have to lift their opponents flag and raise it whilst defending their own flag from their rival.
This will hopefully then lead to Rusev finally being beaten as we saw the end of Bo Dallas' streak on Monday night, Rusev is now the only undefeated superstar and this could be a way for WWE to end the streak without him looking weak and being pinned or forced to submit to the Patriot Lock.
Along with these two matches we also have the WWE World Heavyweight Championship match between John Cena and Brock Lesnar that is setting up to be an all out war and the match that everyone is looking forward to as Principle Owner of WWE Stephanie McMahon steps back into her wrestling gear to take on the newly reinstated Brie Bella.
Other news to come out of last night's Smackdown tapings was the new names for two newly formed tag teams, Heath Slater has now began teaming with Titus O'Neil after 3MB were disbanded and Jinder and Drew were released and their new tag team is now called Slater Gator, whilst Layla and Summer Rae are now known collectively as The Slayers.
