Arsenal are still in the hunt for Real Madrid midfielder Sami Khedira according to former footballer-turned pundit Stan Collymore.
The Gunners were said to be keen on landing the World Cup winner this summer as they seek to bolster this midfield, and were reportedly readying a £23 million offer with Real Madrid keen on selling up.
However it appeared as though their interest had cooled somewhat, with Khedira seemingly content to stay at the Bernabeu and pen a new contract. His wage demands were also said to be an issue.
However Collymore, who now works as a pundit for TalkSPORT has taken to Twitter to shed a bit of light on the transfer saga. He wrote: "Gooners, haven't forgotten you. Khedira still 100% on, whatever anyone else tells you."
The Gunners look short of steel in the middle of the park, although perennially crocked midfielder Abou Diaby is close to full fitness ahead of the new season. Khedira would go some way to solving that problem, although whether the deal can be pulled of remains to be seen.
