Football is about to hit our screens again this month as the NFL's pre-season programme takes hold.

Fans love to hate the pre-season and players do too. The games aren't like regular season games. There is nothing on the line. Fans don't care whether or not their team goes 4-0 in the pre-season. Of course it's great if they do, but what really counts is what happens from September onwards.

However, there are plenty of storylines that can develop during the pre-season that can shape the careers of specific players. Also, the pre-season is a crucial time for players coming back from injury who want to put on a good show.

So with that in mind we thought we would list the top five players that will disappoint during the pre-season. Now this doesn't mean that these NFL players will be drastically bad. It just means they will fail to live up to their lofty expectations, or simply fail to live up to the hype that has surrounded them during the off-season.
