Three big Summer Slam announcements included - Smackdown review August 1st

Smackdown aired on Friday night and had some major Summer Slam implications along with some epic matches taking place.

The main event was, as advertised on RAW on Monday, Chris Jericho going one-on-one with Erick Rowan of the Wyatt Family.

Rowan was accompanied to the ring by the remainder of the family with the stipulation being applied that should Jericho win, Rowan would be banned from ringside for Jericho's clash with Bray Wyatt at Summer Slam.

Dean Ambrose continued his relentless pursuit of Mr Money in the Bank but Seth Rollins, as always had help in the form of the Devil's favourite demon, Kane.

Ambrose was placed in a two-on-one handicap match against the members of the Authority and what followed was surely the match of the night.

Following his relentless and ruthless attack on Roman Reigns on RAW, Randy Orton came out to the ring to issue an ultimatum to the big powerhouse.

The second of three Summer Slam revelations that came out of Smackdown came from the Viper as he dared Reigns to get in the ring with him.

So it appears that Orton will be stepping into the ring with Reigns at Summer Slam which should be nothing shy of a great match.

Former team-mates faced each other at the very start of the show as Jack Swagger took on Cesaro.

So Rusev and Swagger continued their feud after the match and yet another big showdown for Summer Slam was announced.

The ravishing Russian Lana officially challenged Swagger to a flag match at Summer Slam, perhaps the only type of Match that Rusev should ever be competing in?

After breaking the streak on Monday, R-Truth was out for revenge against Bo Dallas for the beating he took after becoming the one behind 17-1.

It didn't go well for truth however as Bo went viciously at him again until he was disqualified to bring up two consecutive losses.

AJ Lee beat Rosa Mendes within about 10 seconds but look what happened after the match.

Dolph Ziggler and the Miz continued their rivalry as Ziggler fell to Alberto Del Rio with a large assist going to the Miz.

The two fought outside the ring until Miz cleared the area and Del Rio took full advantage when he returned to the ring.

As is quickly becoming a regular sight in the WWE these days, Fandango put another loss on his record thanks to Summer Rae and Layla providing the distraction.

They began dancing with El Torito as Fandango took on Diego in the ring, Diego got the win off the distraction as Fandango's bad luck continues.
