Liverpool manager Brendan Rodgers has heaped praise on Mario Balotelli as the Merseyside club prepare to play AC Milan in North Carolina this weekend.

The Reds are, of course, on the lookout for a reputable goalscorer following the departure of talisman Luis Suarez, and Rodgers is a fan of Balotelli. Could a bid be on the cards?

Sir Bobby Charlton is sure Manchester United will be able to overcome the “mistakes” of last season after Louis van Gaal was appointed to pick up the pieces of the failed David Moyes reign.

Van Gaal has been described as “very clever” as the Old Trafford legend, who is convinced the club have the right man at the helm.
