Radamel Falcao looks set to snub Premier League quartet Manchester United, Liverpool, Chelsea and Manchester City in favour of a move to Real Madrid, according to The Daily Star.
The report has suggested that the forward, who returned from a long term injury in the Emirates Cup yesterday, is interested in a move to the Bernabeu, with the Spanish outfit preparing a bid for his services.
It appears then that the Colombian hitman, who is recognised as one of the leading forwards in world football, could head back to La Liga and join his former club's rivals. Falcao of course only left Madrid one year ago, as he departed Atletico, but it now appears unlikely that he will move to England's elite division.
It appears, then, that Madrid could make another huge statement signing, following the arrival of Falcao's ex-teammate James Rodriguez. Carlo Ancelotti's side, who won the Champions League last term, look in even better shape heading into the new campaign.
The Premier League clubs, however, may have to turn their attentions elsewhere, with Liverpool still looking to replace Uruguayan superstar Luis Suarez. The likes of Manchester United, Chelsea and City already have an array of talent in their front lines, but it remains to be seen as to whether they make a striker swoop in the coming weeks.
All four clubs will be determined to challenge for the Premier League title next term, with Liverpool looking to go one better after falling to Manchester City at the final hurdle last time out. Manchester United, meanwhile, will be desperate to improve under Louis van Gaal after David Moyes' disastrous campaign.
