Brock Lesnar return frustrates superstars

Published 16 Comments

One of the biggest topics WWE fans discuss is whether it’s right that the company brings back part time talent who then go on to achieve a lot more success than the superstars and divas that are on the road every single night.

Always been an issue

It comes up time and time again, it’s the reason why current superstars are frustrated that their chances are being taken up by the superstars who come and go as they please; whereas former talents have used this reason to get out of the company, such as CM Punk.
Now it looks as if the resentment from backstage talent is back, this time the heat is reportedly aimed at The Beast Incarnate, Brock Lesnar.

The Wrestling Observer has reported that there is current backstage heat on Brock Lesnar; seeing him as just another part-time WWE superstar but is still being treated like royalty, headlining any and every event he chooses to appear in.

They have also claimed that sources backstage are expecting this situation to become more well-known and potentially blow up into a massive story; especially if Brock Lesnar does end up walking out of SummerSlam as the new WWE World Heavyweight Champion if he overcomes John Cena.

The beast could be champion

As expected with this, this continues to highlight why the morale has been very low backstage, first with the part time return of The Animal Batista; followed by the massive stock drop and financial crisis which continues to see superstars and divas losing their jobs. The payment for house shows has also not been great whilst the superstars and divas are also said to be upset over how late they were paid for WrestleMania XXX; it was rumoured they finally received their cheques last week, almost four months after the event.

Now with Brock Lesnar coming back and dominating again, they aren’t too happy as you can imagine.

It’s easy to judge when you’re simply a fan and not a superstar who has probably worked their entire life to get to the WWE; only to not have their rightful main event moment because a part time superstar will draw in more money for a short period of time.

Other part-timers

But is it really fair? It’s understandable why fans remained frustrated at the likes of The Rock as he has taken big spots before leaving for the next project; but at the same time nobody puts people in seats quite like The Great One.

The jury is still divided on Dave Batista, he clearly said he wasn’t pleased the direction the company was going in, before leaving and coming back again to compete in the main event of WrestleMania; and then leave to have great success in his film Guardians of the Galaxy.

With Brock Lesnar it’s a similar situation, of course seeing part timers is never a great thing as it takes up our favourite superstars spots, but then again you want to see the man that conquered the streak compete whenever we can; because we know he won’t be around for too long and when he does leave for good, other superstars will finally and rightfully get their chance.

Let’s hope the superstars and divas backstage can endure for a little longer.
