It has to come to us Gooners as a big surprise that Arsene Wenger has been extremely active in the current transfer window. It is really abnormal to see Arsenal doing business so early and so rapidly during a transfer window.
A great goalkeeper, two top full backs and an exciting attacker have been brought in by the professor. But our squad still worries me even though we have that depth now. We still need to strengthen certain areas in the squad.
Arsenal are still in need of that steely midfielder and a poacher in front of goal. In my opinion, we don't only need one additional strikers, we need two. Credit to Olivier Giroud, he has shown us what he can do, but he can't last the whole season.
What I'm trying to say is that, we simply haven't strengthened the squad where it needs to be strengthened. Sure, we have brought in quality players but it was because of these areas that we simply fizzled out last season.
When Aaron Ramsey and Mathieu Flamini got injured and suspended, we simply lost it. No one was able to step up to the plate. Up front, you simply can't play the same striker for 50-60 games, it's just not possible.
We have been linked with players like Sami Khedira and I think he would be a great addition to the squad. He is just the kind of player needed.
Up front however is a different story, the strikers who were looking at have already moved, leaving us with the second best. It's worrying really, but I have a feeling that Wenger has something up his sleeve, just as he did with Mesut Ozil last summer.
