Kobe Bryant and Michael Jordan are two of the greatest players ever to grace the NBA and as such debate as to who is the better player often go on for almost as long as the duo's illustrious careers.
But while the usual arguments center around the number of NBA rings on their finger, personal honors and individual statistical dominance one eagle-eyed fan out there has put together a video montage which could make a case that Kobe and Jordan may actually be the same player.
The similarities between the game of Kobe Bryant and Michael Jordan have long been recognized but the video (entitled 'Identical Plays: The Last Dance) goes the extra yard to highlight a seemingly endless highlight reel depicting both superstars performing near-identical signature shots.
And that is before you get started on their uncannily similar on-court demeanour - finger wagging and facial expressions included.
As well as both laying claim to number NBA titles and personal honors during their respective careers, the similarities between the two legends' games is another area on which most basketball fans tend to agree.
Kobe or Jordan?
Michael Jordan is often given the nod ahead of Kobe Bryant when ranking the games greats but Jordan just about pips the Lakers legend for his achievements in the game.
And having been the face of the NBA prior to Bryant's arrival, MJ can also lay claim to the turnaround jumpers and clutch plays laid out in the video.
You can't really argue with Kobe's dedication to being the best however, and who better to take inspiration from than the Chicago Bulls legend?
Kobe Bryant even admitted to mimicking Michael's moves back in 2013, when he posted the following message to Twitter in response to Jordan own revelation that Kobe had a chance at beating him one-on-one:
"Domino effect. I stole some of his...this generation stole some of min #thecycle," wrote the Lakers man.
Such is Kobe's own ability, that were it not for the grainer footage or red jersey on Jordan's back many would be hard pressed to pick out the difference.
What the stats say
Michael Jordan's career stats : 32,292 points, 5,633 assists, 1,072 games and six NBA titles.
Kobe Bryant career stats: 31,700 points, 5,925 assists, 1,245 games and five NBA titles.
Watching the two greats at work though makes you forget about the stats and simply enjoy the game for what it is.
