Atletico Madrid midfielder Arda Turan has played down rumours linking him with a move to Manchester United by insisting that he's at the best team in Spain, reports talkSPORT.
The attacking midfielder, who can also take up a role out wide, has been linked with a move to Old Trafford in recent time after an impressive season in La Liga last term. The 27-year-old played a key role in the 2013/14 campaign, as Atletico claimed the La Liga title and reached the Champions League final.
It's not surprising, then, that the likes of Manchester United have been credited with interest in the player's signature in recent time. United's Premier League rivals Liverpool and Chelsea have also been linked with him, according to the same report, as they look to improve ahead of a Champions League campaign.
However, Turan seems to be focussed at Atletico, as he told Spanish news agency EFE: "I am at the best team in Spain."
It remains to be seen, however, as to whether England's elite clubs step up their interest in him in the coming weeks, but it now seems likely that he will stay in La Liga.
Do United need him anyway?
With Turan likely to stay in La Liga, should Manchester United fans be worried? Well, in truth, it can be argued that they don't really need him anyway. Of course, he's extremely talented, and has some fine attributes, but United already have an array of talent in the attacking position from midfield.
Turan is versatile: he can play behind the striker or out wide, but the likes of Adnan Januzaj, Shinji Kagawa and Juan Mata can all do the same. United certainly don't need another No.10, so perhaps they should look at other options.
The middle of the park is an area that is in need of strengthening at the Theatre of Dreams. Despite the signature of Spanish ace Ander Herrera, United are still lacking options and could do with another world-class addition in the centre of midfield.
Defensively, United are also in need of additions after the likes of Rio Ferdinand, Nemanja Vidic and Patrice Evra departed the club. United fans will certainly be hoping the club add an experienced player to their back-line before the season begins next weekend.
