Lupe Fiasco has become the latest rapper to try and entice a soccer superstar to Major League Soccer this week, according to reports.
The worldwide famous US rapper is well known for being a Chicago Fire fan, and in the past week he has been trying his best to tempt Jermaine Jones to MLS.
During the 2014 World Cup earlier this summer, Jermain Jones was a top performer for the Team USA outfit that managed to get to the second round of the tournament.
Jones' highlight of the World Cup was when he thundered a goal into the net against Portugal. This and other tireless work by Jones in the World Cup has caught the eye of several MLS clubs this summer. See awesome goal on link below.
But it seems Chicago Fire are the team reportedly in the driving seat at this stage, and Lupe Fiasco could well be one of the key persuading personnel for the Fire.
Talking on Twitter on Tuesday, Lupe Fiasco tweeted the USA's international. "Yo @Jermainejunior you already got the dreadlocks now all you need is one of these," Fiasco tweeted, with a picture of a Chicago Fire jersey.
It has been reported that Jones has allegedly turned down the advances of the Fire. But head coach Frank Yallop has remained positive by stating that he's simply waiting to hear back from Jones right now.
Another Jermaine coming?
Lupe Fiasco is not the first US rapper to try and entice a soccer player to MLS. Drake famously managed to persuade English international star Jermain Defoe to play for his Toronto FC. That particular move has worked wonders for the Canadian side, with Defoe in top form in MLS this season.
But nobody knows for sure whether or not Jones will actually join him and ever play in MLS during his career, but one thing's for sure, Lupe Fiasco certainly wants him to sign the dotted line with Chicago Fire soon.
