LeBron James opted to visit the Cleveland Browns training facility today as his new NBA team, the Cavaliers, completed negotiations to bring in fellow all-star Kevin Love.
With the focus of the media once more descending on the Cleveland Cavaliers Thursday as the news broke regarding the Love deal, LeBron was busy keeping a close eye on his home-state's NFL franchise - a team which of course includes marketing ally Johnny 'Football' Manziel.
A known Browns enthusiast, LeBron James was spotted by reporters taking in a team practice Thursday despite the fact that the morning session was closed to the public (that is what being a hero in your home town gets you I suppose).
Numerous photos showed the four-time NBA MVP chatting with new Browns coach Mike Pettine as well as watching Manziel out on the gridiron. James even paid a visit to the NFL team in their locker room.
With both Johnny Manziel and LeBron James arriving in Cleveland in recent months the city is set to enjoy several years at the center of the sporting spotlight. And with the duo sharing the same management company it is likely this wont be the first time they take a vested interest in each others progress this year.
LeBron may have been distancing himself from basketball today but there is no doubt that he played a huge part in attracting Kevin Love to the Cavaliers franchise.
James has been in direct contact with Love in recent weeks in a bid to sell the Cavs' potential, and with news today that a deal has been agreed upon you cannot argue with his power as a negotiator - or his right to enjoy himself with some downtime across the other side of town as any successful GM does after a big deal.
Browns build up
LeBron James may have a couple of months left in which to familiarize himself with his new Cavaliers teammates, but the same cannot be said for Johnny Manziel.
The rookie quarterback is in the midst of a heated quarterback battle and, as the Browns look to ramp up their preparations for the upcoming NFL season, some sound advice from LeBron would undoubtedly be appreciated.
The Cleveland Browns will take part in their first preseason game on August 9 when they travel to take on the Detroit Lions.
