Liverpool have signed the next Patrick Kluivert, according to Lille coach Stephane Adam.
As reported by the Daily Star, Lille's reserve team coach has suggested that the Reds' new signing Divock Origi has similar attributes to legendary Dutch forward Patrick Kluivert.
The youngster certainly looks set to become a key player for the Merseyside outfit in the future following his £10 million switch to Anfield. Origi has, however, already returned to Lille on loan for the remainder of this season, as he looks to continue his development in the game.
The youngster proved his credentials at this summer's World Cup, as he even managed to take Romelu Lukaku's spot in the Red Devils' side. At just 19-years-old, Liverpool boss Brendan Rodgers will be hoping that he returns to England even better in the summer of 2015.
Adam certainly believes the youngster can make it at the top, as he's also admitted that he's not surprised that Liverpool came in for the youngster's signature in this transfer window.
Speaking to Le Parisien, Adam said: "He makes me think of Kluivert.
"Quick, powerful, with technique that's above the norm.
"I'm not really surprised.
"When I had him working under me with the under-19s, you had the impression that he was playing with his little brothers.
"Divock has the qualities to become a world-class player."
Liverpool fans, of course, will have to wait a long time before seeing the youngster in action, but they will certainly be excited by his comparisons with Kluivert.
For now, though, Rodgers and Co. will be concentrating on the up coming Premier League season, as the Reds look to go one better after ending as runners-up last time out. Rodgers' side will also embark upon a Champions League challenge next season, as the Merseyside outfit compete in Europe's elite competition once again.
Despite the sale of hitman Luis Suarez, Reds fans will certainly be optimistic heading into the new campaign after a number of key signings this summer. As well as Origi, Rodgers has also signed ex-Southampton trio Rickie Lambert, Adam Lallana and Dejan Lovren, as well as the likes of Javier Manquillo, Emre Can and Lazar Markovic.
The Reds kick-off their 2014/15 campaign against Southampton next weekend, and they will be looking to secure three points on the opening weekend of the campaign.
