Netherlands international Memphis Depay is set to join Premier League side Tottenham Hotspur in the coming days.

Tottenham were initially set to offer £10 million + Nacer Chadli for the services of Depay, but the Belgian is not keen to move away from White Hart Lane and is ready to fight for a place in the starting line-up this season.

The Daily Mail reports Spurs will offer £15 million without including any player in the deal.

Not paying heed to Van Gaal’s advice

Former Holland coach and now Manchester United manager Louis van Gaal advised Depay to stay put for another season after his impressive display in the World Cup in Brazil and continue to develop further. But it seems the player thinks otherwise.

Spurs on a spending spree

Spurs manager Mauricio Pochettino has already signed Ben Davies, Michel Vorm and Eric Dier to strengthen the defence and negotiations are ongoing regarding Villarreal defender Mateo Musacchio with issue relating to third party, former club River Plate holding 30% right to the fee for the sale of the player, according to Mirror.

Pochettino hinted that Depay would be the perfect player to bolster the Spurs’ attack alongside former Eredivisie recruit, Christian Eriksen and Brazilian Paulinho.

The London based club wants to complete the signing of the winger before PSV play their UEFA Europa League qualifier on Thursday.

PSV Declaration

However, PSV technical director Marcel Brands have said earlier that the player is not for sale but it is believed the club would be interested if the right bid comes along.

The 20-year-old had a sensational World Cup for Netherlands on the back of a brilliant season with PSV Eindhoven in 2013-14, scoring 14 goals in 43 matches.

Technically Gifted

Good with direct free-kicks along with his impeccable dribbling skills and impressive judgement in link up play between midfield and attack, according to,Depay would no doubt be a valuable addition for Spurs.

A future star for the Netherlands team it remains to be seen if the wonderkid joins the star-studded Premier League in the upcoming 2014-15 season.
