Chelsea’s preparation for the new Premier League season is nearly done and they will line up against Hungarian side Fernacvaros on Sunday in their penultimate friendly match before they take on Burnley a week on Monday night.
Jose Mourinho has seen his side perform well this summer after the World Cup in Brazil and hopes are high ahead of the new season after the Blues went empty-handed last term.
Roman Abramovich does not have a great deal of patience with managers that do not win trophies, so the Portuguese will be under some pressure.
Friday saw the Stamford Bridge club take part in a charity double-header in Turkey, where they played 45 minutes against Fenerbahce and Besiktas.
They defeated the former 2-0 thanks to goals from Diego Costa and Branislav Ivanovic – Costa’s goal was especially good, a terrific solo effort that you can watch by clicking here – but they fell to defeat to the latter.
Sunday evening will be the time for the match in Hungary and Mourinho will likely take into account the rigours of the friendlies in Turkey before picking his team.
However, with only a week remaining before the start of the new season Chelsea will be hoping some of their World cup stars get more valuable minutes.
With that in mind, here is the GMS predicted Chelsea line-up for their match with Ferencvaros…
Courtois; Ivanovic, Terry, Cahill, Filipe Luis; Matic, Ramires, Fabregas, Hazard, Schurrle; Costa.
One more chance
After the clash with the Hungarians, Chelsea have their final warm up game against La Liga side Real Sociedad at Stamford Bridge on Tuesday evening, less than a week before they play their league opener against newly promoted Burnley.
